We are currently seeking an experienced and highly detail oriented Executive Housekeeper for a beautifully maintained private weekend residence located in Belvedere, San Francisco, California.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a polished household professional who thrives within a structured yet independently run environment. The property is primarily used as a secondary residence for a private family of four, meaning the successful candidate will often oversee the day-to-day presentation and readiness of the home autonomously throughout the week.
This residence consists of one main home alongside three additional houses located on the property. Over time, the role will naturally evolve and expand in line with the ongoing development of the estate, including several upcoming construction and renovation projects. As more of the residences become fully operational, the household team is also expected to grow accordingly, creating a wonderful long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved in the structure, systems and development of a growing private estate environment.
Working closely alongside the House Manager and wider household team based at the family’s primary San Francisco residence, the Executive Housekeeper will play an essential role in ensuring the property remains impeccably maintained, fully prepared for arrivals and consistently operated to an exceptional standard.
The role would suit someone proactive, organised and naturally service-minded, with a genuine appreciation for luxury household standards and beautifully run homes.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping and Property Presentation
- Maintain the residence to an exceptional standard at all times
- Ensure the property is fully prepared ahead of all family arrivals
- Conduct detailed household resets following departures
- Oversee fine laundry, garment care, steaming and wardrobe organisation
- Manage household inventories, linens and supplies
- Coordinate dry cleaning and valet-related tasks
- Monitor the overall presentation and functionality of the residence
Household Operations and Coordination
- Maintain household systems, inventories and operational documentation
- Communicate proactively with the House Manager regarding maintenance or household matters
- Coordinate smoothly with the wider housekeeping support team
- Assist with occasional errands, grocery runs and household support tasks where required
- Provide occasional assistance during private events or family visits
Administrative Support
- Maintain organised household records and shared inventories
- Support the ongoing development of household procedures and operational systems
- Assist with light household administration and email correspondence where needed
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience within luxury private households, estates or high-end hospitality environments
- Strong understanding of luxury housekeeping and wardrobe care
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Strong communication skills and professional presentation
- Experience with household inventories, documentation and operational systems
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Comfortable working within a pet-friendly environment
- Legally authorised to work within the United States
Additional experience within yachting, formal service or advanced wardrobe management would be highly regarded.
